Cable Incline Biceps Curl

BicepsCableIntermediate

The cable incline biceps curl targets the biceps while providing constant tension throughout the movement.

  1. Adjust the cable pulley to a low position and attach a straight or EZ curl bar.
  2. Set an incline bench at a comfortable angle and sit with your back against it.
  3. Grab the bar with an underhand grip and extend your arms fully.
  4. Curl the bar towards your shoulders, keeping your elbows close to your body.
  5. Lower the bar back to the starting position with control.

How to perform the Cable Incline Biceps Curl

  1. Set up. Set up in a stable, balanced starting position appropriate for the Cable Incline Biceps Curl using your cable.
  2. Brace and execute. Brace your core, control the descent, and move through a full pain-free range of motion while emphasizing your biceps.
  3. Reset. Reverse the movement under control and reset between repetitions, keeping your form crisp on every rep.

Coaching cues

  • Move with intent — every rep should feel deliberate, not rushed.
  • Drive force through your biceps rather than momentum.
  • Keep your breathing steady: exhale on the hard part, inhale on the reset.

Common mistakes

  • Using too much weight and losing positional control.
  • Cutting the range of motion short and missing the target muscle.
  • Letting your spine round or hyperextend instead of staying neutral.
