Cable Russian Twists (On Stability Ball)

Sit on the stability ball and hold the cable handle or rope attachment with both hands. Extend your arms in front of you, fully straightened. Keep your back straight and lean slightly back while engaging your core. Twist your torso to the right side, bringing the cable handle or rope attachment towards your right hip. Keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and maintain balance on the stability ball. Return back to the starting position by rotating your torso to the left side, bringing the cable handle or rope attachment towards your left hip. Repeat the twisting motion, alternating sides, for the desired number of repetitions. Focus on engaging your core and maintaining stability throughout the exercise.

Coaching cues

  • Move with intent — every rep should feel deliberate, not rushed.
  • Drive force through your abdominals rather than momentum.
  • Keep your breathing steady: exhale on the hard part, inhale on the reset.

Common mistakes

  • Using too much weight and losing positional control.
  • Cutting the range of motion short and missing the target muscle.
  • Letting your spine round or hyperextend instead of staying neutral.
