Revolved Triangle Pose

Body WeightIntermediate

Revolved Triangle Pose stretches the legs, hips, and spine while improving balance and concentration.

  1. Start in a standing position with your feet wide apart.
  2. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees and your left foot slightly in.
  3. Extend your arms parallel to the floor and hinge at your hips to reach forward.
  4. Place your left hand on the floor or a block, and twist your torso to the right, raising your right arm towards the ceiling.
  5. Hold the pose, breathing deeply, then switch sides.

How to perform the Revolved Triangle Pose

  1. Set up. Set up in a stable, balanced starting position appropriate for the Revolved Triangle Pose using your body weight.
  2. Brace and execute. Brace your core, control the descent, and move through a full pain-free range of motion while emphasizing your primary working muscles.
  3. Reset. Reverse the movement under control and reset between repetitions, keeping your form crisp on every rep.

Coaching cues

  • Move with intent — every rep should feel deliberate, not rushed.
  • Drive force through your working muscles rather than momentum.
  • Keep your breathing steady: exhale on the hard part, inhale on the reset.

Common mistakes

  • Using too much weight and losing positional control.
  • Cutting the range of motion short and missing the target muscle.
  • Letting your spine round or hyperextend instead of staying neutral.
