Single Leg Jumping Glute Bridge

Body WeightIntermediate

Perform a single leg glute bridge with a jumping motion to engage your glutes and improve power.

  1. Lie on your back with one knee bent and the other leg extended straight.
  2. Push through the heel of the bent leg to lift your hips off the ground, squeezing your glutes at the top.
  3. Jump explosively while keeping the extended leg straight, landing softly back into the bridge position.
  4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions before switching legs.

How to perform the Single Leg Jumping Glute Bridge

  1. Set up. Set up in a stable, balanced starting position appropriate for the Single Leg Jumping Glute Bridge using your body weight.
  2. Brace and execute. Brace your core, control the descent, and move through a full pain-free range of motion while emphasizing your primary working muscles.
  3. Reset. Reverse the movement under control and reset between repetitions, keeping your form crisp on every rep.

Coaching cues

  • Move with intent — every rep should feel deliberate, not rushed.
  • Drive force through your working muscles rather than momentum.
  • Keep your breathing steady: exhale on the hard part, inhale on the reset.

Common mistakes

  • Using too much weight and losing positional control.
  • Cutting the range of motion short and missing the target muscle.
  • Letting your spine round or hyperextend instead of staying neutral.
