The Eagle Yoga Pose

Body WeightIntermediate

The Eagle Yoga Pose enhances balance and concentration. It stretches the shoulders, arms, and legs while promoting mental focus.

  1. Stand tall with your feet together.
  2. Wrap your right leg over your left, tucking your right foot behind your left calf.
  3. Extend your arms forward, crossing the right arm under the left.
  4. Bend your elbows and bring your palms together.
  5. Hold the pose, focusing on your breath.
  6. Release and repeat on the opposite side.

How to perform the The Eagle Yoga Pose

  1. Set up. Set up in a stable, balanced starting position appropriate for the The Eagle Yoga Pose using your body weight.
  2. Brace and execute. Brace your core, control the descent, and move through a full pain-free range of motion while emphasizing your primary working muscles.
  3. Reset. Reverse the movement under control and reset between repetitions, keeping your form crisp on every rep.

Coaching cues

  • Move with intent — every rep should feel deliberate, not rushed.
  • Drive force through your working muscles rather than momentum.
  • Keep your breathing steady: exhale on the hard part, inhale on the reset.

Common mistakes

  • Using too much weight and losing positional control.
  • Cutting the range of motion short and missing the target muscle.
  • Letting your spine round or hyperextend instead of staying neutral.
